Louis Vuitton Fashion Photography Details
Review “The images feature Louis Vuitton products in everything from advertising campaigns to fashion articles spanning the Fifties to the present day.” -WWD"Coffee Table Book for the Fashion-Obsessed...gorgeous, fashion-focused...Louis Vuitton eye candy awaits, courtesy of this lavish photography book. The brand’s iconic images, both editorial and advertorial, span from the ‘20s until now, and features esteemed photographers like Bruce Weber, Patrick Demarchelier, and Helmut Newton. –WhoWhatWear“The house responsible for logo mania draws from its archives of campaigns and editorials for a master class in visual storytelling.” –Elle “This is an ode to Louis Vuitton. The sizable volume certainly projects the brand’s import as well as status within the world of fashion. Everything from its size, to the paper, to the quality of reproduction is top shelf all the way. Not only does the book prove the enormous appeal of the brand, but it also provides the reader with a who’s who of photography of the 20th century. If you really read the captions and the text, what you find out is that the styling of these photos/images is equally as important as the image themselves and their photographers…the book will make a great gift especially to those who have an affection for the brand and its designers over the last 20-year period...There are fabulous visuals that most will have never seen before." –New York Journal of Books“Louis Vuitton Fashion Photography is an expansive 352-page hardcover compendium of the fashion house’s celebrated editorial spreads and ad campaigns through the years, from the 1950s to the present.” –Surface “This exceptional album features over two hundred images by the most important modern and contemporary photographers…this book perfectly chronicles the house’s style, history and fashion and it is an essential read for fans of the fashion house, photography and art.” –PoliticalStyle.com “…celebrates the houses’ history with striking images from its archives…” –Harpers Bazaar Read more About the Author Charlotte Cotton is an independent curator of and writer about photography. Reviews
I collect LV books, so naturally this one was a must have and it does not disappoint. The book is beautifully made and the metallic foils between sections add a really nice touch. The book is divided into four sections; each one begins with an essay written by curator Charlotte Cotton, first introducing the history of modern fashion photography and then moves on to discuss the evolving image of LV campaigns. Each of these sections is accompanied with a large selection of editorial campaigns by top fashion photographers. The campaigns are presented in a chronological order from 2014 to very early ones dating back to the 1950s.The production quality is spectacular and all photos are large, vibrant, and crisp clear. All photos have captions with dates, photographer name, and the magazines they first appeared in.There are no image duplications from previous LV books except for two or three photos, the rest of the book is completely new. This attractive tome is highly recommended to LV collectors and all those with passion to beautiful fashion photography.
