Reviews
This is a nice, if WAY too short book on the making of Superman Returns. I DO wish it had more photos from the sets and of the costumes from the film. One of the neatest things they show in the book are photos of the filmed, but unused scenes of Superman in his crystalline spaceship when he is returning from his journey to find Krypton! This is the ONLY source where I have ever even seen these amazing scenes even mentioned. I own the 2-Disc DVD Collectors Edition of Superman Returns and those scenes are not even mentioned in the 2 hour long making-of documentary OR included in the "Deleted Scenes" collection on Disc 2! They look amazing and I really wish they had used them in the film. The only part of those scenes we get to see is when the ship comes flying over Martha Kent's farm and crashes in the field where we see Kal-El in his silver suit just before he collapses in his mothers' arms. Anyway, nice book for an ENTIRELY underrated film! If you love the film, you will like this book!
